Nothing screams ‘Bank Holiday weekend’ more than a barbecue in the sunshine with a brilliant bottle of wine (or two!).
We’re very lucky to have some outside space to enjoy alfresco meals when the weather allows. This weekend, we truly made the most of it with delicious homemade food accompanied by incredible wines from The Wine List.
I’m no wine connoisseur but I’d like to think I know a thing or two about what makes a good bottle. That being said, I love learning about new grapes, processes and winemakers which is why The Wine List subscription is so great. Each month, you discover more about different wines – it’s like a wine course or tasting without the spittoon!
This weekend I tucked into a gorgeous bottle of red by Casa Castillo (main picture) with homemade burgers & plastic cheese, grilled baby gem, mushrooms and flatbreads. It was juicy, full bodied with the aroma of plums and blackcurrant.
I’ve got another great looking bottle of Spanish wine by Bico da Ran (above right) in the fridge ready to enjoy with roasted chicken salad and BBQ’d baby gem lettuce. This is light and crisp with aromas of gooseberry, worrying very drinkable!
For me, it’s super important to show support to independent businesses and The Wine List is a really exciting discovery; they provide great service, the site is easy to use and I love a good start up brand.
Curious? Here’s a link to their website with more information.
