Last week, I hosted a fabulous supper club at the flagship Anthropologie store on Regent Street where guests were treated to an evening of seasonal, fun and fresh food with delicious drinks from Portobello Road Gin – the perfect way to spend a evening out with friends.
If, like me, you struggle to enter an Anthropologie store without buying anything then you’ll appreciate how magical the evening was; surrounded by gorgeous homewares, my seasonal summer menu looked even better served on vibrant dishes and rustic tables.
I enjoy nothing more than seeing friends and family tuck in to good food (with drinks, of course) and it was a joy to see everyone getting involved on the night. When I first started out, I would only have one night off a week so I’d try and combine catching up with friends with cooking – to me, food should always be shared and menus accessible and fun. I wanted to bring a slice of that to Anthropologie with beautiful platters of fresh, hearty food.
On the menu? Pan seared tuna with avocado and grapefruit to start, followed by my signature coronation cauliflower tacos served with red rice and quinoa tabbouleh, roasted aubergine with saffron yoghurt, zesty coriander coleslaw with pomegranate, tomato-trio salsa and a dreamy combo of pineapple and coconut with coconut ash for dessert.
I designed the whole evening with sharing in mind – it’s a brilliant ice-breaker at dinner parties and especially supper clubs where guests often book in pairs or small groups. There’s nothing better than getting to know the person next to you over a big plate of delicious food with a refreshing G&T in hand.
