What I’m Loving: October

With an abundance of delicious fruit and veg coming into season, Autumn is a brilliant time to embrace seasonal produce such as apples, blackberries, celeriac, kale, leeks, parsnips, pears and plums – all of which lend themselves perfectly to hearty dinners and comforting puddings. Alongside planning informal dinner parties with friends to make the most of nature’s bounty, I’ve compiled a list of things I’m currently loving and looking forward to this month. From Nopi’s ex-Head Chef comes a book celebrating the very essence of cooking; taste, flavour, innovation, quality and simplicity. Now a school chef in London, Nicole is pioneering food education for children – and her new book is full of delicious recipes inspired by the chefs she’s worked with and the countries she’s visit.

Gospel Choir Bottomless Brunch – Saturday 20th October
A two-course brunch with all you can drink bubbles and a background of your favourite nineties, noughties and current chart hits from The Big Sing choir – what more could you want from a Saturday morning?! Tickets here.

Soane’s Kitchen
I might be slightly biased but Soane’s Kitchen in Ealing is one of my favourite places to kick back after a long day with a glass of wine and a plate of delicious food. Arrive in time to watch the sun set across the garden and you’ve got a winning evening on your hands. Book a table here.

Plum Clafoutis
As the nights get a little chillier and the days a little long, what better way to end a meal than with a comforting bowl of homemade plum clafoutis… Check out the recipe here whilst they’re still in season.
